Established at the start of 2009, The Pelargonium & Geranium Society was borne out of the amalgamation of two long established British specialist plant Societies, The British Pelargonium and Geranium Society and the British and European Geranium Society.

Members receive monthly copies of the Society’s email magazine, an Annual Yearbook plus have access to members only Web content and expert advice via a Members only Facebook Group. You can also enter, free of charge, Society shows and events.

The Society welcomes all persons who are interested, or would like to become interested, in the fascinating genera of plants named Geraniaceae. The two main plant groups contained within this genera are the tender perennials, Pelargoniums or ‘Storksbills’ and the hardy Geraniums ‘Cranesbills’. We generally specialise in the Pelargonium Group, the zonal type of which are often marketed as ‘Geraniums’.

We generally have three main Get-togethers each year, Our AGM in March, our National Annual Show in June and another Open Committee Meeting in October. All members can attend these events for free and are also welcome to join in our Zoom Committee meetings held regularly throughout the year.

Pelargoniums are a very diverse group of plants containing many different types with the zonal section often being commercially marketed as ‘Geraniums’ in the summer at Garden Centres and commercial outlets. You can view HERE a selection of videos which outline all of the various plant types and sections.
